Performance & The Arts
F.M. Alexander designed the technique to serve his needs as a performing artist. All the work done in rehearsal can be manifested in the presence of an audience by using the Alexander Technique. Developing new skills is more effective when a performer knows this work. Actor Alan Rickman once said: “With the best intentions, the job of acting can become a display of accumulated bad habits, trapped instincts and blocked energies. Working with the Alexander Technique has given me sightings of another way… Mind and body, work and life together. Real imaginative freedom…” Alexander Technique for the Injured Dancer
