Interim Working Policy - ATI Statement of Belonging, Access and Non-Discrimination
Adopted by the ATI Board June 18, 2024
We care about belonging, access, and non-discrimination.
- We support the fundamental rights and dignity of all people.
- We respect each person’s unique perspective, inclusive of age, color, disability, gender, gender expression, gender identity, genetic information, national origin, ethnicity, race, creed, religion, marital status, sex, sexual orientation, economic class, political affiliation, and veteran status.
- ATI is committed to providing a safe, welcoming, inclusive environment for teachers, trainees, students, and members of the public attending our events. Bullying and harassment have negative effects on our whole community. There is no place within ATI for bullying, racism, or discrimination.
The Alexander Technique teaches all people how to better understand the functioning of the whole person. ATI is a non-discriminatory organization that is always evolving; please reach out to us if you have any questions or suggestions.
ATI acknowledges the racism and racist language in FM Alexander’s books, and we denounce this language and the racist beliefs it perpetuates. While the past cannot be changed, we can inhabit the present with openness, humility, and conscious awareness.
