Walk Alongside Alexander - Exploring the Beginnings of the Alexander Technique

Penelope Easten

Date of the Event/Workshop: Begins Monday, April 7; Every Other Week Until July 14.

Time:  2 - 3:30 pm

Location of the Event/Workshop: Online

Brief Description of Event:

The UoS account of how FM developed his technique doesn’t include many facts as they are now known. It’s generally accepted that FM drew on many sources as he evolved the technique – including breathing work and Delsarte’s work. To do as he did, we need to know what he did. We will take an experiential journey through the first years of the AT work – exploring early procedures to find the roots of breathing work, inhibition, oppositions, antagonistic action and mechanical advantage. We’ll discover what underpins our modern work, enriching and strengthening our practice and teaching. “A project of deep scholarship, realized by the practical skills from decades of teaching. Thoroughly stimulating and enjoyable!” Julia Norstrand, PhD, AT teacher. Begins April 7th, 8 modules on alternate Wednesdays (or watch recordings)
