Brief Description of Event:
When p
upils present themselves with an underlying state of shock, fear, grief, tr
auma - however present or archaic this may be - it is not always appropriat
e to work with the same aims, time scale or pacing that may be effective wi
th other pupils. Something else may be called for in order that the backgro
und state can gradually dissolve and free itself from its physical encapsul
ation. This workshop series will explore ways of working that enable a sens
itive ‘growing out of’ these states, setting them free in their own time...
and will address the concept of 'appropriate use' versus 'good use'. This a
pproach requires a surrendering of what we think we know, of what we think
the pupil needs and instead a simple 'allowing' to work from a state of pr
esence and prolonged inhibition. Participate via zoom or via recordings.4x
